Lecturing / Speaking

As a brand and management consultant/author Erik Schoppen offers up-to-date insights and practices in the field of cognition, (brand)perception (experience & usability), and strategic brand and design management (building brand equity). He is co-author of the book Strategic Brand Management (BNL Edition), widely-used and accepted in both the education and the business world. He developed the Build-Bridge-Bond brand management methodology for building sustainable brand leadership, and lectures Brand & Design Management and Neurosciences at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen, University of Groningen, and several other institutes. At the moment he is working towards his PhD at the University of Groningen (Behavioural and Social Neuroscience) researching Sustainable Brand Trust.

Original and versatile

What makes his lectures unique, is the rich pallet of subjects he discusses, from neurology, perception, cognitive psychology, marketing, branding to design. He makes unexpected associations between these fields that sometimes lead to surprising results. He is also a master at reducing complex subject matters to intelligible dimensions, making him an original, versatile and sought-after speaker.
More than anybody else he knows how to captivate his audience by his right-to-the-point analyses, salacious propositions and catching humour. Through his many years of experience as a lecturer and consultant he not only knows how to teach his audience about their own conscious, brand behavior and emotions, but he also knows how to inspire them - provided with new insights and practical knowledge - to do something with this knowledge.


He lectures Brand & Design Management, User Experience Design and Neurosciences (cognition, perception and consumer behavior) at the Hanze University of Applied Science Groningen, University of Groningen, and several other institutes.
